About
We supply joinery material from Sweden, Finland and Lapland in pine and spruce.
Â
Joinery material has many applications. The end product depends upon the species and the grade. A summary of the grading rules and applications is as follows:
Â
Unsorted (US)
Unsorted joinery material is used where a visible finish is required on applications such as stairs, interior cladding, doors, windows, mouldings, architraves and skirting boards.
Unsorted has a low knot content and straight grain and is the best quality joinery timber.Â
Â
Fifths (V / 5ths)
Fifths is the next grade down from Unsorted and is used in a wider range of applications such as construction timber, planed goods (PSE / PAR), tongue and groove underlay and flooring, cladding, decking, skirting and other internal products.
Â
Sawfalling (SF)
Sawfalling is a blend of all timber grades and sits in between Fifths and Sixth grade. This grade has multiple purposes and its use is determined by the end user’s requirements.Â
Â
Sixth (VI / 6ths)
Sixth grade material has larger knots and defects such as in bark, resin pockets and wane. Applications for this grade are pallet and packaging, Type A batten, lower grade cladding and general nonvisible or non-structural uses.
Â
Surface finish.
Joinery material is generally offered as sawn for further processing.Â
Â
We can also offer any of the above grades as a finished profile such as:
