Downgrades

About

Timber is a natural product with each log processed having its own characteristics.  During the grading process at the mill boards will be downgraded or rejected.  These are the boards that do not meet the grading standards.  The sawmills decide whether to recycle these rejects or to sell them.

Rejects are sold at reduced prices and used where:

  • A specific grade isn’t required

  • The visual appearance isn’t important, or the wood is hidden

  • Where the customer has the time to cut out any defects and make use of the better material within the timber board

Certification.

All material is PEFC or FSC® certified.
